Environmentally Friendly Products

There has been a lot of talk about the environment in the recent years. With the melting glaciers and global warming, there is no doubt that the planet is in danger. Much of the damage that has been done has been caused by man’s consistent usage of unnatural products. Most of everything that people have been using over the last several decades has contains some sort of deadly chemical. Obviously, those chemicals are safe when used in small amounts. However, a small amount of time is all that is needed for man made chemicals to destroy the atmosphere.

Take for instance the chemical ammonia. In small doses, ammonia is safe. You’ll find ammonia in some of your everyday cleaning products. Unfortunately, over a long period of time, ammonia can lead to heart problems, lung disease, skin burns, and even death if used in high concentrations. Just imagine what it does to the atmosphere. Fortunately, there are environmentally friendly products that do not contain ammonia that perform just as well as anything else.

A lot of individuals may complain that environmental products are more expensive than man made products, but the truth is, they are not. Just like any other product, you have to shop around. Since going green has become so popular, retailers are taking advantage. It’s all about brand name. If you’re purchasing a product from a relatively popular name brand, you’re likely to pay a higher price. However, if you shop around, you’re bound to find something you can afford.

Makeup and other cosmetic products are commonly used amongst people on a daily basis. The scary thing about it is that they all contain harmful ingredients such as alcohol and butyl. A lot of women are using wrinkle creams that contain these two particular harmful ingredients and ending up with a worse result than what they started off with. Alcohol and butyl are both man made chemicals and can easily cause damage to the skin and create dryness and wrinkles. Anything that causes that type of effect on the body can’t be good for the environment.

Perfumes and air sprays are yet another common product that is not consider environmentally friendly. Each usually contain high concentrations of chemicals, and if you try hard enough, you can smell them. The chemicals are added as preservatives and to produce a potent smell, which works out fine except for the fact that the chemicals are leaking into the atmosphere and contributing to an even worse global warming problem. People don’t think about this, and if they do, they still continue to mindlessly purchase these products out of habit, or simply because they do not know that environmentally friendly products exist.

You can easily find environmental products at your local department store or online. Nowadays, every product imaginable is available in an environmentally friendly version. From toothpaste to mouthwash and body soap to cleaning supplies – you can find them without harmful chemicals to save the atmosphere, and your health.
